With over 20 years clinical experience, in occupational therapy and case management, Victoria is empathetic and dedicated in her approach to working with complex adult and paediatric clients, who have sustained life-changing injuries over a wide spectrum. This includes acquired brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputees, polytrauma, chronic pain and associated neurotrauma. This is achieved via the creation of high quality, bespoke rehabilitation and support programmes. Victoria is a collaborative team player, working with a range of professionals from health, statutory and legal sectors, as well as with the client and family, using her excellent communication skills and a 360° approach. She has an empowering, can-do attitude, and strives to facilitate successful outcomes to maximise recovery and enhance the clients’ quality of life.
Victoria is highly experienced, organised and motivated. She understands the need for responsiveness, to modify her approach, manage risks, overcome challenges and optimise engagement from clients, family members and professional colleagues.
Victoria has a proven ability to confidently apply expert knowledge, perform comprehensive immediate needs assessments and devise bespoke, cost-effective rehabilitation programmes with realistic, measurable goals for a diverse range of clients.
Victoria has skills in predicting long term future care and equipment needs for clients. She can arrange and oversee complex packages of care including 24-hour plans. Victoria enjoys working with clients to ascertain their needs, researching and commissioning independent and statutory services to meet those requirements, monitoring the professional input provided and ensuring high quality care, therapies and services.
Victoria also works as an independent occupational therapist for adults and children in medical negligence and personal injury cases, and as a consultant to rehabilitation units. She provides clinical supervision, mentoring and coaching to other occupational therapists.
She has an enhanced understanding and ability to work within medico-legal frameworks and the litigation process, having worked on single and joint instruction cases.
