He is a passionate and experienced Occupational Therapist and Clinical Case Manager who has worked successfully with adults and children who have experienced life changing injury, including brain injuries, spinal injuries, and complex orthopaedic/polytrauma injuries.
Stuart has worked in health and social care for nearly 20 years. He has worked closely with clients and families across a wide range of services. As a case manager Stuart works with individuals who have experienced a life changing injury by coordinating care and rehabilitation that enables them to live as independently as possible. He uses person-centred goals and a range of clinical outcome measures to enable his clients, their families, and relevant parties to see progress in real time and to shape their rehabilitation programme.
Stuart’s clinical background has influenced his approach to case management, which is focused on working in partnership with his clients on what’s important to them. In this context, quality of life through engagement in meaningful occupations is valued as the primary therapeutic agent as well as the goal of rehabilitation.
Stuart has a sound operational and demonstrable leadership background in health and social care, with an ability to consider high-level strategic thinking with detailed operational awareness. He can translate policy and concepts into practice as well as retrieve, interpret, and utilise data (qualitative and quantitative) to influence his practice and write comprehensive reports.
