Sarah has worked as an occupational therapist for over 35 years, both within statutory services and independently. These roles have enabled her to develop an awareness of the difficulties associated with illness and disability for children/young people/adults and their families.
By working within multidisciplinary teams she has developed a good understanding of the importance of an integrated approach centring on the needs of the person and their family, particularly with children/young people.
She has extensive experience in housing adaptation, including wheelchair accessibility, the meeting of complex care and moving and handling needs.
Sarah’s motivation to work in her chosen field is the belief that all people, whatever their needs, are entitled to equal life chances. She is enthusiastic, conscientious, and able to organise, prioritise and meet deadlines.
Sarah is committed to developing her personal and professional skills through practical experience and ongoing training.
