More recently, she has developed a keen interest in osseointegration, somatoform, FND, complex pain presentations and psychological trauma.
Qualifying in 1996, Rebecca is a Registered General Nurse with experience in a variety of care settings (both NHS and private sector) including vascular and orthopaedic surgical nursing, long term management of disabilities, ophthalmic microsurgery, and care centre management. The latter provided invaluable experience in staff recruitment, cost of care provision, healthcare budgeting and understanding/adhering to national standards set by inspectors. Rebecca has worked as a nurse advisor developing, implementing, and evaluating teaching packages alongside undertaking clinical audit. She has also worked as a Disability Analyst for DWP conducting personal capability assessments and scrutinising medical evidence in order to determine the functional capacity of those claiming medical benefits.
Having worked as a case manager since 2004, Rebecca strives to help clients reach their rehabilitation potential, so life can become self-directed, quality driven and enjoyable again. She believes that to fully understand and support individual needs a case manager must be always flexible, responsive, and able to provide bespoke rehabilitation and support packages that are meaningful, purposeful, client centred and cost effective. One approach does not fit all. For Rebecca, succeeding as a case manager represents maintaining your clinical and ethical position in order to reflect the needs of the client. It is about enabling clients to lead as broadly independent a life as possible. Where that is not possible, there is success to be found in achieving a supported lifestyle of quality. Alongside case management, Rebecca prepares expert witness reports. She has court speaking experience and has attended numerous legal conferences. She is a member of CMSUK and BABICM ensuring that she remains up to date with developments within the industry.
