Rachel is an occupational therapist working as a case manager, with over 18 years’ experience in the delivery of rehabilitation. She is passionate about the provision of cost-effective and collaborative rehabilitation, to restore an individual’s independence and quality of life.
Her clinical area of expertise is the case management of clients who have sustained complex and life changing injuries, with a specialist interest in brain injury management. She has worked with a variety of clients from minimally conscious states, through to high functioning individuals, in supporting them to develop a meaningful and purposeful life.
She has extensive skills in neuro-rehabilitation, the management of challenging behaviour, ensuring that risk management and the safeguarding needs of the individuals are central to her practice. Rachel consistently works within the principles of the Mental Capacity Act. Rachel uses her knowledge base to undertake comprehensive assessments, to develop effective rehabilitation and support packages which are tailored to the individual's needs and goals. Managing multi-disciplinary and support teams is central to her practice, to ensure collaborative working to meet the client’s needs, no matter how challenging.
