Kate is a compassionate and dedicated case manager, taking a person-centred approach to her work with clients experiencing complex injury and trauma. Feedback has consistently described her as ‘kind, approachable, honest, and transparent’, with those she has worked with noting that she is a good listener and that they ‘feel heard’.
Kate has been a qualified and Registered Social Worker since 2009, she is highly skilled in understanding the care and support needs of both adults and children. Kate has previously held posts as both a primary school teacher and senior lecturer in adult social care education, which she feels greatly contribute to her abilities as a proactive and solution focussed case manager.
She has a wealth of experience working in a range of health and care settings where she has developed supportive and positive working relationships with clients, their families and care teams. She is an excellent communicator, skilled in managing the dynamics of clinical multidisciplinary teams, with a clear understanding of the impact and consequences of the life changing experiences that follow a serious trauma. Kate is highly skilled in undertaking comprehensive, well written, in-depth care needs assessments and making relevant evidence-based recommendations.
Kate remains passionate about the delivery of accurate education and training in Acquired Brain Injury to pre and post-qualifying staff in Adult Social Care teams, and to this end is involved in a pioneering local project via UKABIF (UK Acquired Brain Injury Forum)to raise awareness of ABI and support further learning and development of support staff. She also continues to work as a Visiting Lecturer in higher education.
