Geri has over 30 years’ experience of working in healthcare. She is a Registered Adult Nurse who specialises in trauma and acquired brain injury. She has experience in community, medical and surgical nursing, and rehabilitation, and has worked as both a Community Nurse within the NHS, and as a Practice Nurse in Private GP practice.
Geri is highly experienced in managing and supporting individuals in the community as a Registered Manager with CQC (Care Quality Commission). She has considerable expertise in supporting individuals with complex care and rehabilitation needs. She is highly skilled in recruiting, retaining, and managing community care teams.
Geri has developed sound skills in liaising with multi-disciplinary professionals, parents/family, and support teams and is dedicated to bringing together the right team for an individual recognising that everyone is different and not one size fits all. Geri recognises and values the need to ensure all care staff feel engaged and motivated. She understands the position of all the stakeholders that may work as part of a clients care package including Adults Services, NHS and Integrated Commissioning Boards (ICB’s).
Geri has lived experience of ABI which enables her to approach clients and their families with both empathy and understanding. Geri has experience of working with both adults and young children with complex care needs and works to a person-centred care set of principles, ensuring that the client is at the centre of everything that she does. Geri is a skilled healthcare trainer, coach, and mentor.
